cheese cave temperature

Hi all, I have been learning/lurking a while...first time poster. I am in the beginning stage of my first cheese (farmhouse cheddar Ricki Carrol recipe) other than mozzarella and cottage cheese and all I have for a cheese cave is a dorm fridge that I can only get as high as 50 degrees. Will that temp work to age my cheese after I apply the wax?

That is an excellent general temp for aging.

Thank you so much for a quick answer!, one more question I have is this. can I combine red cheeses wax, and natural bees wax together and make a good wax to use on my cheese?

Yes, so long as the red wax plasticizes the bees wax enough. Meaning you might need to keep the bees wax ratio light, <50%
