My washing ended up with good colour and coverage but I notice it has a grainy/gritty mouthfeel to it - any suggestions about what is going on here?

What is gritty? The rind or the inner paste of the cheese?

The rind is gritty. The paste is fine. Well, actually its not fine - too rubbery - but I can work on that. I have no idea what could cause a gritty rind though. Thanks.
