OK here goes... First post... Let's get the Tennessee Board going.

Just found this place in Johnson City located at 817 W. Walnut Street near East Tennessee State University. Phone (434) 232-1460.  The name is the Epicurean Outpost.  It is a small family operation that has supplies for homebrewing beer, wine, and cheesemaking. I visited there the other day and picked up my very first cheese making book, Home Cheese Making by Ricki Carroll ($16.95). I also got some liquid Calcium Chloride (3 oz. for $5)and 4 oz. of Tartaric Acid (also $5) just to get me started.  I didn't need any rennet at this time but they have a good supply on hand if you do. They had numerous other items for the home cheese maker which included a couple of presses, curd ladles, instant read thermometers, etc. etc...

Just give them a visit if you are going to be in the area or give them a call and ask before you go if they have what you want.

Ronnie, thanks, always good to support your local store!

I just added them to our listing of supply stores and I just emailed them saying I linked them and invited them to join our forum ;D.

Good idea...  When I visited there the other day, I told the Lady that waited on me (I can't believe I didn't get her name, not like me) about the forum while I was there and she said she would check it out.  I too like to support local business.
