Cleaning cheese cloth

This might sound like a fairly strange question but does anyone know how to clean a cheese cloth whenever I press a cheese the cheese cloth that I use for pressing is caked in bits of curd that are impossible to wash out with soap and water what should I do, I don't want to put it in the washing machine as there is know were for the bits to go then.

I use a cheap Oxy cleaner and warm water the bubbles seam to dislodge all the carp and the washing soda in it disolves all the fat.  :) Just make sure you use a non scented one .

Was going to suggest Napi-San ( nappy soaker/cleaner ). Make sure to use hot water as it makes it work alot better. Napi-San is also a sanitizer so is great for soaking gear and equipment. The ctive ingrediant is sodium percarbonate so find a product with the highest amount with a scent.

   I wash all of my cloths using machine washer / dryer and haven't had any issues.  Just make sure you rinse the "clingies" out as much as you can using COLD water first.

Soak your cheese cloth in cold water first. Hot water will further melt the cheese into your fibers.

Rinse them out as best as you can and then in the washer with bleach.  Works great.

One trick I use is to scrape the curds off the cloth with a spoon after soaking in water.  Make sure you scrape diagonally, to prevent dislocating the individual strings in the cloth.

This is what I do too.  Cold water soak and the particles crumble away.
