Can I use 1% milk?
« on: October 17, 2014, 09:14:30 AM »
Hi all

I have 4 gallons of non UP milk that's skimmed to 1% only. Most recipes call for 2%.

Can I still use it?

Thanks O0

Sure.  Might produce a slightly harder cheese or you could add a bit of cream to up the percentage to 2% if you're concerned.
The wise do not always start out on the right path, but they do know when to change course.

Thanks, actually after more careful look it's 1.5% fat - something I've never seen before

Thanks again.
