boy have I missed you all

Not sure how long it has been since I have been on here, reading and learning from all of you, but I know it has been toooooooo long!
So much has changed in that time though, new job which meant a move, which means we have the mist amazing little 10acrs now, and this spring we bought a pair of Dexters, one goes in our deep freeze in spring 2015, while hopefully the other gives us a calf, and GLORIOUS MILK. And then my wife cant stop my cheese making efforts mwaahahahaha.
Best reason is our acreage has a little old farm house, needs work but kitchen is in great shape really and we have picked up a great used stove and fridge for next to nothing for in there. Now I have a place to do all my cheese, canning, and whatever other projects and hobbies with out making a mess in my wife's pristine kitchen, and she cant complain about the over whelming cheese aroma through out the house (complaints are worse now while we await the arrival if or third little person mid December (: so gotta be nice to her)

You made me grin, so a cheese to you, sir!

I'm envious that you will have a kitchen just for playing around with cheesemaking, etc.  It is in my dreams to turn the factory area of our home (old cheese factory) into a commercial kitchen and teaching center.  Some day, some day.

Good luck with your cattle.  And thanks for checking back in and filling us in on your wanderings.

lol, the property was vacant for about a year, so has been lots of work and much to come. We had to battle alot if overgrown vegetation... Nothing a match cant fix ;) not always the smartest move but... Had a hose out and ready, mowed around the tank and saturated that area...
This year we let our little dexters back there to mow and fertilize lol.

<Sigh>  What a wonderful slice of heaven - I wish I could get out of this office...  and into some gumboots.  Amidst the click and clatter of keyboards I still hear the sound of wind through the trees and smell that 5 am smell of  . . . .  dirt, real soil with cow poop in it and chickens scratching through it - I getting depressed...  <sigh!!>

Usually if one person asks a question then 10 are waiting for the answer - Please ask !
