Cleaning the cave!
« on: January 23, 2015, 08:20:28 PM »
Okay, I had not done any cleaning since I got the cave about 6 months ago.... I did wipe up excess water than has collected. So I should not have been surprised to see the molds growing, but yeeuch! Emptied out all 35# of cheese, and set to work with Trader Joe's version of Simple Green and some elbow grease, trying to get into all the nooks and crannies. Looks much better afterward! I promise to keep more on top of it!

I clean mine with a spray bottle full of chlorine bleach diluted in water.  That way I know it gets onto every surface, even ones I can't see, and kills any molds or fungus' that might be in there. :o  Take a look at this Susan.
