I think that if you keep your temperature controller limits set closer to the goal that you'll see smaller fluctuations in humidity.  My goal is 54F.  The unit comes on when the temps reach 55F.  It takes only about 30 seconds of running to pull the temps down to 53.4F.  The humidity drops from 85% (its setting) to about 81% in this short period of time.  At a garage temperature of 60F the refrigerator runs about every 10-15 minutes (no door opening).  The RH recovers in about three minutes.  Granted all this will change as the temps increase so I may have troubles maintaining humidity at this time. 

One way to recover humidity faster is to use a humidifier that will put more moisture in the air somewhat quicker than the Cave Cube will.  This would require that the humidity controller operate a relay to kick on line power to the humidifier.  There may be some other issues with doing it this way.
