Sprayer from Walmart
« on: April 09, 2015, 04:16:43 AM »
On some board a couple of weeks ago I mentioned a very effective but cheap spray bottle I got from Walmart a couple of years ago.  I stopped by yesterday and found that they are still available at about $6.50 each.  I scored four more.  You can see in the attached photo that you fill it with whatever and pump it up.  The spray is adjustable from coarse to fine.  I use two of these whenever I make cheese.  One contains Clorox (1 tsp/gallon of water) and the other contains straight white vinegar.  I use the Clorox on surfaces and equipment including sinks and faucets after I've cleaned them.  The vinegar is used on my hands after I've washed them and before I touch anything that will contact the cheese making equipment sanitized with the Clorox.  I think that they could be used to spray molds on cheese.  Here's a photo of the bottle.

You really should consider StarSan instead of bleach.

Bleach tastes better.

J/K -- I haven't actually tasted StarSan to compare ... :)
