Lot of people do---you either like it or you don't. Not sure if that answers the sanity question :)

I tend to not be a big rind person, but always try it and remove if I don't care for it  :P.

I've never met a rind that I didn't like!

They're have been few rinds I didn't eat, but a lot of that has to do with how you age.  I've gone pretty much to vacuum bagging my pressed cheeses so there is very little rind drying compared to a natural rind.  The natural is more appealing texture and color wise.  As for bries and blues the rind is the best part for me (esp. the soft inner rind on bloomies).

This is an older thread, I know, I do eat the rind. I like the crust on bread as well.

Eating the rind brings to mind something, well a little different. This lady was telling me, they were at a very fancy eating place. when the wine was opened, she was handed the cork. She said: "I knew right away, when I licked the cork, it was the wrong thing to do!"

I eat some but not all.  Soft and washed rinds are my favorites.
