Hello, from Lafayette IN
« on: April 29, 2009, 12:52:24 PM »
I found this forum by way of the http://cheeseaday.blogspot.com/ blog

I've only ever made a couple fresh cheeses and just made my first aged a week or so ago. I've been lurking for a couple of days and I'm really impressed, and inspired by what you all are doing.

I also homebrew, make wine, bake sourdough, & food garden as much as I am able.

Welcome to CFO, Andrew!

You'll find a lot of like-minded folks out here.  I make wine, occasionally bake sourdough, and also produce many of the fruits and veggies my family eats.

It's a great hobby, although it is tough to wait for those aged cheeses.  I have a parmesan that I made last August - waiting until the end of June to make it.  Time passes quickly, though.

I look forward to getting to know you better.

Welcome Andrew.

While this is a cheese forum, most here have other hobbies that run that gamut.

I am also a wine maker.  Actually, I still maintain that winemaking is my real passion and cheesemaking is just a dalliance..

Hello Andrew and welcome to the forum!

The only Lafayette I know is the one near me in Louisiana USA so I checked on google maps and true, there is another in Indiana USA! I think you are the first one in Indiana so I've just added a Geographic Board for you in case you have any local type info.

Again welcome!

Welcome aboard Andrew.

I am also a homebrewer! My biggest passions are sausage making and smoking meat but anything to do with cooking, producing or reserving food and making bread are in there! Making music is another passion.

I just got my hands on Michael Ruhlman's Charcuterie, and the meat grinder is on order. So it looks like sausage making will be my next obsession/hobby.

Ahh Andrew Sausage making is one of my passions! I have some great perfected recipes for salami, caprilcolla, and standard sausages on my website and forum. What goes better with cheese than a great sausage!

You'be picked a really good book to get stared with.

Welcome. I'd have to agree with Wayne if I knew what he said, he uses such big words sometimes. Anyway, welcome and hope you post lots of cheeses.

Honorificabilitudinity and the high standards of this forum demand the occasional long word.

Hi Andrew and welcome to the forum. As you can see-everyone here is really into this site and making something, be it cheese, wine, beer, whatever! Dig in and make some cheese!

And some, I suspect, are into making up words, as well!

Correct me if I'm jibing in stupidity here, Wayne...

And I apologize for hijacking your thread, Andrew.  Sometimes we get up to hijinks.
