Hello fellow cheese makers,
I live in the "most liveable city" in the world - Melbourne. Yes, we get all 4 seasons in one day, but hey, if you don't like winter, wait a couple of hours for summer.
I'm fairly new to what has turned out to be my most time consuming new hobby. It all started when I was reading through a recipe for a cheese cake I wanted to make. It called for Farmers Cheese and it suggested that if you couldn't find it in the stores to make your own, well that was it! I became a cheese maker from that moment on. Of course I started with the said farmers cheese then onto Halloumi, Feta, Camembert, Stilton (still ripening but looking good) and my most recent more challenging attempt was a copy of the Jarlsberg (my favourite). Working full-time unfortunately doesn't afford me the time I would like to spend on my new hobby. I have read a number of posts by others and have found them informative and inspirational.
