I'm sure that the "other" equipment nerds on the Forum can suggest many ways to improve this. For example you could insert this into a drill press to keep it vertical and control depth.

Sailor, I like this suggestion! Turn on the drill, pull the handle down lowering the cutter and have spiral cut curds.

Here's my take on that style of curd cutter, made a couple of years ago - it has continued to work well for me.

Could also be inserted into a hand mixer. I would also use a sharp edge instead of the round tube to minimize curd damage.
