No cheesemaking for me!
« on: December 11, 2016, 02:41:56 AM »
So, I thought it was about time to get back into cheesemaking. The Radiotherapy is 6 months in the past and I am feeling "normal" again.

So I check the rennet is OK, yep all good there, floc times normal. Unopened cultures are within their use by dates, so far so good!
Check the cheese fridge 24C - not good.... The wine cheese fridge is less than four years old and not doing it's job. I am going to have to approach the store I purchased it from and see what can be done about it. Our laws here state that a product has to operate for a reasonable time. Obviously less than four years for a fridge is not reasonable.

Oh well, lets start digging up the receipts.

That's disappointing to get all geared up and then be thwarted.  Hopefully it's not too much hassle before you're up and running. :)

Good luck with the store.  Hope they replace it for you.

Well I finally found my receipt and I had forgotten I paid for the extra 3 years warranty (Total of 5 years) and I purchased the fridge in Oct 2012.  Yay.  :)

Repairer is coming to fix/replace it on monday.

Everything is progressing satisfactorily. I had the operation in Feb 2012 and radiotherapy around April last year. (The highest point on the graph)
Since then it has been heading in the right direction, and hopefully it will continue to do so.

I actually got into cheesemaking 8 months after the op and it was very therapeutic, making cheeses and having them turn out so well is great and I am looking forward to restart making them.
