Liquid Geo CB 10D dosage (small batch)
« on: January 18, 2017, 12:49:25 AM »
Hi all ! I'm new here and happy to share with you !
I was wondering how do you dose the quantity of liquid geo CB (bottle of 10D) and you PC and with which equipment.

I'm doing a batch with 4L/1gal of pasteurised milk approx.

Thank you everyone !

Looking at the website, I see that 30 ml is the dosage for 10000 L.
That's .003 ml per litre of milk or .012 ml for your 4 L batch - well beyond any measuring spoon! (I think that would be about 1/5 of my smallest mini-spoon)
I also have liquid Geo and I just dip the tip of my smallest mini-spoon into the liquid and transfer it across. You could use a skewer or something similar.
I don't think that quantity is as critical with Geo as it is with the ripening cultures.

I suppose you could but I'm not sure what rate you would use for that. I would usually add it to the milk with the ripening culture e.g.when making Camemberts.

If 0.012 ml is the amount for a 4L batch, 1 ml of the liquid geo could be diluted in 84 ml of water, and then 1 ml of that would be just about the right amount to use for 4L of milk.
