Beautiful new cheese cave...and the price!!!
« on: October 30, 2017, 03:45:39 PM »
I was hunting around my local area for a cheese cave..of course the temp control range or 10'c to 13'c made a standard fridge out of the question.

But then luck came my way..a lady online had bought this used wine cooler for her business. But once she got it back to her shop she thought it's cosmetic condition was a bit rough and didn't like it for a display for her artisan chocolate in her store front.

She parked in the back of her shop and forgot about it..then posted it online for sale at $30.

So I came upon her add about a month later and to my luck it was still available..seems not too much demand for a commercial wine cooler that stands over 5 feet tall in my area.

When I called her she said I could have it for FREE..she just wanted the space back!!

I race to see it. The few bumps and scratches it had were absolutely no concern for me. With glee loaded it into my SUV and drove away like a guiltless thief!!!

Once home a thorough cleaning with soap and water and set it up.

The wood racks are adjustable, the temperature control holds a rock steady temp with  the digital readout, glass front door!!

I couldn't be happier..

Hello Dougspcs, what a beautiful machine, nothing to say, it's the dream of amateur cheese makers like me, now you are quiet, ripening is set, see the beautiful and good cheeses in this beautiful cellar :)

I offer a cheese for your sharing and your adventure,
good luck.

Is the cooling mechanism thermoelectric or had a compressor?

Nice find. Yours is about $200 cheeper and 1/3 taller than mine. When I moved to Panama I was under the assumption that electronics would be cheaper here because of the Free Trade Zone in Colon.
I have a feeling I'm going to need somthing bigger. Have been looking at upright freezers but don't know if the Frost Free function will affect its use.
