Quick question regarding a 4 day old cheddar
« on: January 04, 2018, 01:06:46 AM »
On day 4 I left my drying room door open after turning a 4 pound wheel of cheddar. Long story short my dog managed to get it off the counter and carried it out to me in the living room. I had to cut it in half to remove the teeth and claw marks. Will the remaining half wheel continue to dry and age normally? Oh, he is currently looking for a place to bury the other half.

Well you won't have to clean up after him for a couple of weeks after eating that.  Throw it out.
