texture good tast not Camembert

My first attempt went pretty good. I noticed the skin had torn along one whole side so i thought i should just open and taste. It was only about 1 month old. The texture was half right the other half was runny but it tasted like a good Blue rather than Camembert.
Can this be because of the time or something else.
