Sorry if this is redundant, I really did look thru everything.  I did discover the link to convert to metric! (I'll get this yet, Linux!)

Anywhooo....I made some buttermilk to use as meso starter for the tillamook recipe link posted yesterday.  I used 4 cups of milk, and a buttermilk starter purchased online. 
Heated milk to 100 deg, which was too high, so I let it cool to 86 deg.  added the starter, and left it on my stove for 24 hours.  did I kill the milk?

i went to freeze it this morning, and it smells yeasty, vs acidic.  Is it ok to use for starter still? 

I made some Boule dough a few days ago and some of it is still in the fridge....could it have cross contaminated?
