Hello to everybody from SE Michigan

We are very new in the cheese and goat business and there is so much to learn....
We, that are Rudi and Rahel, origianly from Switzerland (that's where my weird accent comes from, I'm working on it to sound more 'real').
We are Cheeseheads, as Swiss we have to ;) and we were tired of all the hormones and antibiotics in the milk and cheese and so we have decided after many discussions to get some goats and try our luck  8)
We both think it is fascinating to learn on what can be made out of milk, especially all the yummy cheeses and so we look forward to talk to all of the experienced people on this forum. It's always great to meet new people and hear different oppinions.
We've just started with our three Alpine goats, one adult (thank you Annie, you are sooooo patient with us) and two babies who will be ready to be milked next year. This is all so exciting to us and we look a lot forward for everything that is ahead  :).

Howdy Rahel, welcome to the forum, you are the first Swiss here, albeit in Michigan!

We live in suburbia, so no animals allowed!

PS: Your accent sounds fine from here . . . :).

Welcome Rahel. Good luck with you new family and your future challenges with cheese making. It can be confusing at first but be as patient with your cheese as your Annie is with you and you will be successful.
