Source for Raw Milk in New Jersey
« on: June 24, 2010, 08:38:51 PM »
Does anyone know of a good source for raw (or at least relatively fresh unhomogenized) milk in central New Jersey or nearby?  The only sources I know of are either far away (like upstate NY or Pennsylvania) or really expensive (think double digits per gallon).  I'd really appreciate any tips!

I know this is an old thread, but for anyone still looking there is a farm a few miles from Washington Crossing State Park (PA side) that sells raw milk (legally) that is organic, tested by an independent lab weekly, and certified by the PA Dept. of Agriculture. I found them by chance when I saw a "Farm Fresh Produce" sign, and will be making my first batch of cheese this weekend with their milk. It's not cheap, but not double digits ($8/gal).

Here is their website:

I have legal raw goat milk just 1 hr north of the NY/NJ/Pa border.
My goats are dry right now but will have kids, lots of kids around Christmas.
We will be over run with fresh raw goat milk.

Thanks for the tips on both, I just had a failure due to unusable milk, and I'd rather just find something good than bother with stuff from the grocery store.

Try www.realmilk.com to see if there's any listing even fairly close to you.  Or find a local chapterleader at westonaprice.org and see if he/she has any suggestions.
