I'm "Alice in TX/MO"

Hello from southern Missouri (at the moment.)  My name is Alice, and I have a small herd of dairy goats.  In the winters, my goats and I move to South Texas for warmer weather!

I have been cheesemaking for a couple of years now, and I'm getting braver.  I've successfully made chevre, feta, cheddar, manchego, and a few interesting experiments. ;D

This is a fantastic board!

Looking forward to getting to know you and more about cheesemaking.

Alice

Welcome from Southern Michigan.  So much to learn and so little time.  It is very fun to learn new things.

It's not the goats who get too cold, it's me and my milking partner.  He has Raynaud's Syndrome, and he loses circulation in his fingers and toes in the cold.  So.... mobile goat herd.  It helps keep the herd small.  If not for needed to get them all in the trailer, I'd have waaay too many goats.

Where in Missouri? We're in Springfield. No animals, just have friends with cows.

Hi Alice, welcome to this forum, I thought it was mostly Canadians who were migratory snowbirds to Southern US, John in Katy/Houston, TX.

LOL.  I'm a native Texan.  I grew up in the hill country of Austin, but hubby is from the coastal plain.  I can't stand the FLATNESS!!

The hill country is one of the best places on earth! Spent a few years out RR12 in Wimberly, great time, great place.
