Dairy Cattle on leased land; raw milk cheese, transported off dairy farm?

Not sure where to put this.  A general question, if such a generality can be made, across the states; and if anyone has any specific knowledge of Wisconsin in particular, that would be great.  Anyone know the "typical" law for:


• Leasing your own land to raise pasture-based dairy cattle;
• Milking at a remote location from your creamery; and
• Making aged raw milk cheese from that milk, which has been transported off-site to your creamery?

I know each State's laws can vary considerably, just hoping I might hit paydirt with one person who might be doing the same thing, or who has thought of doing the same thing.  Many thanks, all.

Done all the time. Have good contracts if you own the animals. Can hire a caretaker, too.

Milking at a remote location from your creamery

Licensing a cheese plant and a milk parlor are separate activities. You can milk and haul with the relevant permits.

Making aged raw milk cheese from that milk, which has been transported off-site to your creamery?

Not a problem, provided your plant is licensed and you follow FDA regs.
