I agree with Jaap ... the SlowFood Cheese event in Bra is well worth the trip to Piemonte (not to mention the tranquil landscapes in the Langhe-Roero region)!  We visited Cheese for the first time this year and were overwhelmed by the amazing variety of cheeses, wines, charcuterie, etc.  No matter what your connection is to cheese, this is an event not to be missed!!  It is held in odd-numbered years, with the Salone del Gusto held in Torino in the even-numbered years (http://www.salonedelgusto.com/).
Eat Cheese :)
