I use straight heavy cream, a bit of sugar and vanilla, no cooking at all. Very rich. I don't make it often.
I'm with you on this one. Pure 4 cups heavy whipping cream, 9 ounces of sugar, and 9 egg yolks, 1 tblsp vanilla for a base.
