Wikipedia
suggests you are in fact not alone. There are, in fact, 4,661,899 OTHER folks along with you in Alabama.
I would suggest walking out your front door, and then walk around randomly. You are bound to run into a fellow Alabamaian.

Yeah, there's a handful of cheesemakers out here, I think I might start a club though so we can all get together, etc.
I know here we've had three facilities set up in the last 6mts. And I'm sure in the south there's more. Alice of sweet home is real nice and told me of a few cheesemakers in central AL. So we here.

It'd be good to chat with central AL cheesemakers, being based in Birmingham as I am!

Birmingham is such a large city, they have some cheese shops there so there must be lots of cheesemakers or at the least intrest there. If one of those shops have a wine and cheese class/tasting, that would be a good way to meet fellow cheeseheads.

it is indeed a large city, with the usual sprawl
I have no doubt there are cheese tasting events, but I have been far too lazy to seek them out

Hi, I am also located in Birmingham, on the southside. I have been making cheese for a year or so but just got serious about it in the last couple of months.

Blue Lion, My in-laws live in Wilsonville but once lived in Pelham and Alabaster. Stuartjc, I am in south Alabama. Alyce, I have bought some great cheese from you and actually purchased a cow that was originally born on your farm.
