I just find these animals magnificent.  Most are beef in the States, but plenty of pure and fullbloods and with a few generations of dairy-semen lines ....

 I really hope that you go ahead with your Tarentaise herd! I would love to cross my Holsteins with this breed!

Thank you, my friend.  The milk has the elusive b-casein, variant C.  Gentle creatures, great mothers, and a decent pool in the US - though I hope to broaden the base with French dairy semen.  Much appreciate you pulling for me.
