More intensive than MIG?  Can you elaborate?

Using more traditional feed schedules, like purchased hay, grain, because of not enough calories in the field. Just using supplements because of having too many animals.

Any examples of one who started with a small herd strength, but planned to grow, and who also planned to stay put - and so had land to expand into, however accomplished?

Typically have not seen it happen. Two types of people, generally. Those who have been in dairy for a while and have grown and have fixed facilities with land they own or lease, and a lot of land. Or those who start out and save and make a go of it, or possibly partner with someone.
