Title: Making Mother Cultures Of Propionibacteria, P candidum, Geo. and PLA?
Post by: steffb503 on August 08, 2012, 05:19:52 PM
Can I make mother cultures of all bacteria? Specifically Propionibacteria, PC, Geo. and PLA.
If so do I follow the same procedure as Meso and Thermo?

no, each type of organism requires its own environment to thrive. For example, if you took a human and put the human in water, the human would die. Same thing (analogously) happens when you take, say, PC, and try to culture it in milk. PC needs high air exchange, new O2, and a different substrate (food source) than lactic bacteria.
