Does anyone have a muenster recipe? Is it similar to havarti?
-
Hi hplace, Havarti is a washed curd cheese type cheese, American Muenster is from the recipes I've seen a rind washed cheese.
FYI, similarly named Munster is a French washed rind cheese, which I don't have a recipe for. I'll add Muenster to the listing under the washed rind cheeses Board name amd move this topic there, sorry about the confusion.
There's a recipe on the website (http://cheeseforum.org/Recipes/Recipe_Muenster.htm), and on the forum a discussion (http://cheeseforum.org/forum/index.php/topic,173.0.html) including another Muenster recipe by forum member Debi.

Sorry for posting in so old a thread, but neither of these links work, and a search didn't reveal the Muenster recipe either. Anyone know where they are now?

Thank you, Boofer! I did a search but didn't find this.
Just figured out why. I only searched within washed rind cheeses.
