Hello to the people of the forum. I am brand new to the forum. I am milking goats and I have 5 Toggenburg milkers. Now that I have more milk than I can drink, I am making chevre which people have asked for. My primary interest is in homesteading and self sufficiency but I also like to share or sell milk or cheese to recover some of my expense. I have had the goats for three years. This is my second year milking and I have made the chevre once to completion and another batch has started. I have a 20 qt double boiler so I can make a 4 gallon batch of milk at this time into cheese. Thank you for the forum and I look forward to looking in to the other rooms and talking to all of you. :)

Is my attachment upside down in your browser?
-
Yes it is, are you sure you are not from down under?
-
That`s alot of Velcro holding them goats in place. Welcome!!

I do not know why it posted upside down but there it is, Ha ha. If you click it will give you a right side up version. My second batch of chevre turned out good.

The clicked picture is only right side up on an apple product. The way they tag the bottom relative to the way you were holding the camera when you took the picture is nonsensical.

I'm on a PC laptop and got the upright picture when I clicked on it...I love the one one kid snuggling with it's momma - how sweet!
I'm a neighbor from Wisconsin, but grew up in southern Minnesota. You are fortunate that your state allows some sales of raw milk and raw milk products. I doubt Wisconsin will ever allow it.

Their milk nozzles are pointing up, so how do you get the milk out? ::)
