Title: Rembrandt Aged Gouda
Post by: Cartierusm on February 18, 2009, 11:04:35 PM
I picked this up at Lucky's Supermarket. I remember Wayne said it was one of his favorites. It is really good. It tastes very similar to Midnight Moon which is one of my favorites.

Oh yes, I've tried that particular brand and it is very good!  Rather dry without any of the rubbery quality of lesser goudas, but I would guess that is to be expected from an aged cheese.

Wayne I thought your holy grail was this http://www.dairyrealty.com/4194507/150-Cow-5-Year-Old-Dairy-in-Wisconsin (http://www.dairyrealty.com/4194507/150-Cow-5-Year-Old-Dairy-in-Wisconsin)

P.S. Optional retorts to Wayne's Holy Grain were large cheese vats, Deers declaring Wayne's the best hunter in the world and would lay on his doorstep willingly giving up, Microsoft asking Wayne to Beta Test their New Virtual Reality Game: Cheese Making, A way for using a bow and arrow to cut curds perfectly, A teleporter to move him instantly from Grand Rapids to his cheese cave for turning while on a meeting break, a molecular realignment machine from Fisher Price: My First Molecular Realignment Machine to be able to add LH100 in to an already made Parmesan.

:)
Excellent alternatives! Those are all  quite worthy holy grails!
Now that I think about it,  I do have a touch of ADHD and OCD when it comes to my hobbies....

Now I'm sad again.

I thought of another one.

Wayne's Holy Grail a Clawfoot bath rub shaped like a Kadova Cheese Mold.

Great cheese & fun thread ;D.

A bathtub shaped like a kadova mold? Sounds like a hot tub to me . . .

Yall can get into a hot tub together if you like shaped like cheese but that sounds like something you get a Niagra Falls.

Of course everyone knows that the pronunciation "Good-a" is English - North American and that the cheese is named after the Netherlands Town of Gouda which in Dutch is pronounced "How-da" but need to guttural roll your tongue when say the "How" part :).
