Title: Manchego Queso - Merida & Cancun, Yucatan, Mexico
Post by: Cheese Head on January 10, 2010, 04:37:30 PM
My family and I were on holiday in Yucatan Mexico over Christmas & New Years, saw no cows and no goats and thus local Mayan people eat very little dairy foods or cheese.

But did ask the Merida Pizza chef making our pizza what type of cheese he was using (Manchego) and also took a picture in Cancun large grocery of Mexican Manchego Cheese.

13 Mexico Peso's = 1 USD.

Manchego on piza huh? Never tried it and I just made pizza a few days ago. Next time! I think I have another manchego about ready in the basement.

John! I want to thank you for posting photos of all those cheeses. I saw very few of them here. Almost every time you take a picture, you give me a chance to see something for the first time in my life :)
