Title: Sheep milk
Post by: bigfish_oz on August 05, 2011, 01:00:33 PM
Hi fellow cheese makers!

Has anyone in the Canberra/Goulburn found a supply of sheep's milk?

I found one place that was doing it in 2008 but although they are still in business they don't answer emails asking if they have it available.

I'd also like to get access to bulk goat's milk (20 liters at a time).

Regards,
Alan

I may actually be onto a source of sheep's milk!

Fingers crossed...

I used to talk to a Vanessa for sheepmilk from Thistledown but she is also not responding to e-mails, probably the e-mails are changed or they are afraid of answering this kind of emails  ;) . I might go down to the EPIC Farmer's Market on a Saturday and contact with them face to face begging for milk.

I also tried to setup a herd share here but no farmers are willing to take the risk I guess.

Bigfish, I think you and I invest into some goats and get them looked after by a willing farmer in exchange of milk. I can ask this at the gourmetbackyard.com forum (http://www.gourmetbackyard.com/forum) and see if there are any takers.

Hi Bigfish,

Have a look at the link below. I started a discussion in the local gardeners forum.
