Since this is a global forum I should point out that here is the USA we celebrate our independence from England on July 4th each year.

Today I put together a cheese and cracker platter for our guests.  Looking down at my final creation something make me chuckle.  In all it's irony, my platter was loaded with cheeses that originated in England or the UK.  There was Stilton, a host of cheddar varieties and a Cheshire and a Wensleydale.

So thank you England for our independence and also for your cheeses!

Haha... just seen this post.

Found some real authentic additions to your themed cheeseboard ;)  (humor)

I actually remember squeeze snacks ... A very 70's thing one would eat while entertaining or watching Graham Kerr's "Galloping Gourmet" on TV.

It's lure was the fact that you could squeeze the imitation cheese food directly onto crackers or celery sticks and it would have a "piped" look to it, as if you used a star tipped piping bag. Lol... classy eh? The built in excluder tip does that for the hand size tube shaped packaging.
We didn't waste any food in the 70's, so one could completely empty the squeeze snack packaging much like a toothpaste tube to get every last drop of the plastic like imitation cheese food goodness :)

And here I thought it looks like sausage.  ;D
