Okay, kids, time for Arts & Crafts! Let's build something!  8)

My wonderful wife bought me a subscription to Culture magazine for Christmas. This little project is in the Spring 2012 issue I received. Seems like a very do-able and useful project. Check out the magazine at culturecheesemag.com.

Here's a previous posting that details such a project.

Let's ferment something!
Bread, beer, wine, cheese...it's all good.

David did a nice writeup of this technique that Debi wrote about here some time ago. Great job.

Boof, As a publisher, I would suggest not scanning and posting copyrighted material. It is OK to paraphrase, and reference the article but copyright law clearly states that their material can't be reproduced in any way without permission. That was a nice article, but everyone should buy the magazine if they are interested.

That's is the Strangest magazine! I have tried at least a dozen time to subscribe online and it never works! I get emails all the time but never get a magazine. I have to drive to the bookstore 35 miles away to get it.

Boofer,

That's a very bad idea... I repeat, a very bad idea...

Darn! I want one now!

I just build a smoker. I based the design off this web page http://thegarlandmanor.com/?p=516.  It works wonders and is very easy to use.

You can also build one out of two clay flower pots.

That video is hilarious. The thing starts to smoke and the guy starts to cough. Hope he's doing alright.
