Hello all,

I've been interested in getting into cheese making for a little while now after a brief foray a few years back making some rather unsuccessful mozzarella. (It looked like mozzarella but didn't really taste much like it). So wanting to give it a proper go this time. The forum looks like the place to learn!

Cheers,

welly

G'day welly and welcome n board. Always nice to see another Aussie join us.
Being in the buffalo country should give you an advantage with the mozzarella, not to mention the fun you can have trying to milk the wild beggars.
I don't think you will be disappointed with the help, advice and encouragement you will get.

Cheers Welly as well.  Take it from a frustrated novice Mozz maker it does take some time (and learning) to master it.  Once you do you will be sailing with the breeze to your back :).

WooHoo another joins the flock - soon we'll take over the world.... Oh sorry wrong forum !  Welcome and hope your Cheese making is fun adventure - certianly without the wonderful people in here I to would still be just making curdled milk and not the great cheeses these pages have helped to produce.

Cheers all! Thanks for the warm welcome :) I made my first proper mozzarella this evening after a brief moment of concern.

I actually have an edible cheese. We have an Italian guy at work who I will have to get to taste it for authenticity.

Hey Welly,

Great to say hi to another forum Newbie!

I've been making cheese for a couple of years now (and started with a mozzarella), and recently took over www.HomemadeCheese.org which you can take a peek at to see if it helps with your early days as a cheesemaker.

Hope you get properly bitten by the cheese bug, it's great fun!

Adam.
