Hi all,
I am Ann, I am currently in Malaysia, new to cheesemaking but very eager to learn and practice my new hobby. I have been stalking this forum for sometime now and got so much informations, recipes and pointers. This forum rocks!

I am an experiment junky by choice, started with yoghurt making then buttermilk, kefir, kombucha....and then of course cheese. I have made few cheeses, mozzarella, ricotta, caciotta, halloumi, farmstead, havarti, gouda, edam, robiola and currently getting really interested in soft cheeses like camembert and some triple creme cheese (I have 2 batches of camembert and 1 triple creme in my so called cheese cave).
The only problem here so far is the hot and rather humid climate, I have to make some adjustments but all is fun.

Looking forward to get more knowledge and friendships here in this forum.

Cheese!

Welcome, Ann! What part of Malaysia? I lived in Singapore for three years, way back in the 70's, and we travelled throughout much of Malaysia at one time or another, including one time that we drove all the way from Singapore to Bangkok and back, 1500 kilometers each way. Good memories ... I keep trying to figure out some way to get back there, but so far haven't managed it.

Looking forward to seeing the cheeses you make!

Hi Kern and Andy,
Thanks for the welcome!

Andy, I live in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. You can drive to Singapore from here, it is around 4.5 hours drive. Sounds like you had a lot of fun with your travelling around Asia, driving to Thailand! 1500 Km!
I love road trips.
Will probably post my camembert soon, as I am so so excited about them, the batch from 5 days ago starts to have the fuzzy white coating. Yoohoo!

Yes, I've been to KL many times. But since it has been 40 years (?! surely I can't be that old??), I suspect it might have changed just a bit. :)

Now, if only I could get some mangosteen and rambutan here in the USA ... ironically, they do have durian at one of the Asian stores nearby, but not mangosteen and rambutan. :( Clearly someone has a warped sense of priorities!
