It's just another fermented food and what an amazing thing to be able to make. Saturday was rainy and miserable so we turned into a bread making day.

And we went from this

through this

to this

If any one would like the details PM me and I'd be happy to provide some context.

All I need is to make Beer or Mean and I've got the perfect lunch

Cheese - bread - pickles - beer.   OMG !!!

I love the crunchy crust on the artisan loafs. Very nice indeed.

And there were 4 of them !! and 6 pizza bases..  It really is something wonderful to have a meal where the majority of the food is home made.  It's really is something...

That's one gorgeous cottage loaf my friend.  Whenever my wife's mother visits I have to make her bread as she hates the white bread we have here.  I've also done videos for CharGriller on making Challah and Irish Soda Bread in a pellet grill and I would be proud of that loaf if it were mine.  Have a cheese for your outstanding bread! ;D

Thanks my friend.. and because it freezes so well, we have sliced them up while still crisp and the freezer has a dedicated bread section now.  My favourite breakfast is scrambled eggs, bacon and Franks Hot sauce on toasted sourdough.
I'm drooling just thinking about it...

So how long have you had that starter? ;D

The Starter is only a youngin' - 4 months.  Though I did a bit of an experiment in seeing how long I could keep it in the fridge with no feeding and these loaves were made from both Fresh and revitalised culture with no discernible loss of activity or overly sour taste.  Amazing...

I have yet to comprehend how to make or use this type of starter,
I've tried a few recipes but don't get how to feed or use it :-[

Nice loaf! Our starters are close to the same age. I cooked my first loaf 7/17/17 for luck :) "Fatty" was about 3 weeks old. Just a pup but did well. I'm feeding him right now  8)

Cooor ! that is a bewdy ! Would it be a weird thing to give a Cheese for bread.  What the heck - a cheese for a wonderful loaf - which can be eaten of course the cheese.
