My first Fourme d'Ambert. Unfortunately due to Hurricane Irma I had to pack up my cheeses and did not get them back in my proper cave for one week. As a result this over aged and the rind went dry. On the good side it tastes great, just a bit strong for a typical Fourme d'Ambert.

John, looks awesome... definitely worth a cheese... rename it fourme D'Irma.. not many hurricane cheeses out there... glad you made it through Irma safely and hope things are getting back to normal for you and yours.
Any damage other than a dry cheese?

Concrete roof tiles and soffits gone, wood deck floated to the other side of the yard, busted stucco, broken boat lift and boat sunk.  Other than that things are great.

Fritz

That's too bad man.. hope you rebuild and patch up. Our thoughts to you and yours.. Didn't look good on tv.
Good luck, and keep your spirits up. You will prevail eventually.

Ouch - that's more than enough. Prayers are with you and all of the areas hit by the hurricanes!
