Greetings. This 10 gal steam kettle is for sale near me.  As seen in photos, the drain on the bottom is completely open.  I have access to a welder and can have a ball valve welded to the drain spout on the outside, will the drain cavity from the inside cause a problem?   Also not quite sure what that little "stud" is near the drain inside of the pot.  They are asking $350 but I'm sure it's negotiable, what do you think?

You're call as you'll be the one dealing with it.  But for me, I wouldn't want it for these reasons:
1) You could get a very large pat and an induction plate for less than that (Induction doesn't have the worry of direct heat via electric or gas)
2) Personally, I think it would be hassle to use.
3) Where would you store it when not in use

So, for me, I'd pass on it as it wouldn't suit me.  But "suits" come in different sizes, so maybe it would be fine for you and your purposes.
