How long to dry before bandaging?

Hello, I am new to the wonderful world of bandaging cheese.
I would like to bandage my cheese for the first time very soon (I'll make a cheddar). The WAXING process asks for the cheese to dry for a few days. I never see that in the bandaging process. Can the cheese be bandaged right out of the press, or does it need to dry?

Thank you for your help.

Hi--I haven't yet bandaged a cheese but the two cheesemaking books I have instruct to bandage immediately after pressing (no air drying).

Dry and cold is what you need. Here is a link with the best description and pictures you will find. https://cheeseforum.org/forum/index.php/topic,13778.0.html

Having never bandaged cheese (I must try it sometime), I cannot answer your question.
As a serial waxer though, I would question the "few days". A few weeks, in my opinion, is more like it.
