Old Caerphilly

I know that mostly we like Caerphilly because it is quite tasty young. But this one hid away in the back of the cheese fridge - not really forgotten - but sort of just waiting!
It was made 12-23-18....
So, very good, quite sharp, and.... crunchies!
I cut off a pound to take to a cheese event tomorrow.

Thanks all! What a great hobby this is!

I was looking at the inventory in the "cave" and realized that there are only a few old things left... A piece of appenzellar style from October 2018, a whole cheddar from December 2018, and a whole montasio from January 2019. I will have to decide when to try all these!

Funny thing, then there is a big gap in stored cheeses until June 2019.
We must have been eating a lot of cheese in early 2019!!
