My wife and I celebrated our Anniversary tonight with a Cheese Plate and a bottle of our 2015 vintage wine, made from our own Grapes....

We normally drink our wine after it has aged a year, but set aside one bottle each year to age for 5 years for a future Anniversary.... It is quite amazing how complex, mellow and smooth that extra time makes.... The cheeses are labelled, and vary from a 1 month old Lancashire to a 4 month old Gouda.... All were wonderful, it was hard to pick a favourite, but mine was the Gouda and my wife's was the Asiago....  8)

CHIMO!....

The label on the wine is a bit hard to read.... It says....

Made from Valiant grapes the bear didn't get
Ripened in the Coalmont sun in 2015
       Aged in Sterne's Whine Cellar
          Goes well with bear meat

The first year we made wine with our own grapes, just before harvest one of the local black bears got most of the crop, and made a real mess of the vines.... It took another two years for them to recover, and IIRC, 2015 was our first big crop.... We are Zone 3 here (goes to minus 35*C on occasion) and Valiant is the only grape that will survive the winters.... They are small and have seeds, but make excellent wine.... We have only 2 vines, that cover a fence 10 ft. x 5 ft.... Last fall we got 53 lbs. of grapes....   ;)
