I am sending out 1 wire.  I am happy to cut more samples and get it in tomorrow mail.

I have seen these marble things in stores with wire choppers for cutting cheese. I wondered how well they worked. Very pricey!

These arrived to me a few days back.  I love them.  Extremely practical and cheap!

UPDATE : These are very nice, but they definitely fatigue and break quickly.  After 2 wheels I just snapped my first.  Luckily they are relatively inexpensive.

Baby Chee,
I would love to know how my spool of wire would perform in comparison.

Can I send you a length of wire?

Baby Chee

Sure.  I'm always cutting the cheese.
:-\ Hmm.  Sounds wrong.

DeejayDebi

The wires look like they are easily replacable. I haven't tried mine yet. Nothing ready to cut right now.

Baby Chee

Ok, Wayne.  I got the envelope a few minutes ago and took pictures.  Sorry I can't get my camera to work well on close up detail of the wire, but here's what I've got for you...

The wire you provided and the wire I purchased look and feel identical.  No size difference that I can tell.

While taking the pictures, I figured a person could easily save a buncha bux if they have a couple simple wood handles, use a table saw to cut a center groove, and then merely wrap wire and tie tight.  You just have to redo the wire every few cheese wheels, but that wire must be $2 for lots of length, so you could have dozens of these across the years for less than the price of 12 plastic ones from a store.

Hey Wayne, is your offer still available? I just crossed this thread looking for cheese wire cutters.

Let's ferment something!
Bread, beer, wine, cheese...it's all good.
