Welcome to the forum. I also have a jersey, a Holstein/jersey cross and a guernsey. This is the very best place to learn. Lots of helpful folks. Have you tried to make anything yet? What part of Texas are you in? Good luck and don't hesitate to ask questions.

Howdy papat, welcome, I know nothing about cows, but I passed some Longhorn cattle yesteday on my bike ride around Bush Park in West Houston, TX, I assume they aren't milking type cows . . . John.

Guernsey are hard to find everywhere. I had to drive several hours to get mine. Do you milk by hand or machine? It is very nice to be able to learn without having to waste a lot of money buying milk. I have thrown away alot of cheese over the years learning.
John I don't think I want to break a Longhorn to milk. I think it would be a major challenge.
