Hi I am also a newbie to the delights of cheese related products.
One question how do you rate Dairylea slices and the ever so lovely cheese strings.
A chap I converse with on a regular basis syas that dont be long in the cheese family and has declared a boycott of said product.
I am also a big fan of Primula
Hello rcmokcub and welcome to these forums.
I confess growing up on this side of the pond I could only guess as to what you were talking about, but after googling i see that you are talking about a British Kraft Cheese product brand called Dairylea (http://www.kraftfoods.co.uk/kraft/page?siteid=kraft-prd&locale=uken1&PagecRef=1&Mid=1) which has almost a cult like following and another British product called Primula (http://www.primula.co.uk/index.php?sectionid=1). Primula is a available in flavoured squeeze tubes and as a spreadable flavoured cheese similar to the Boursin discussed here (https://cheeseforum.org/forum/index.php?topic=70.0).
Frankly I agree with that they should not be classified as cheese but you may find the attached US/Canadian Kraft Product line interesting:
