Title: Rail weights
Post by: GoudaGirl13 on January 30, 2015, 05:26:15 AM
Just wanted to share what I use for pressing weights. I wanted something that was small and dense.
A good friend cut these rail weights for me in standard weights -
2 - 5lb
2 - 10lb
1 - 20lb
They have since been painted with auto rust paint to preserve them.
They are also easy to handle due to their shape and size.

Somewhere there is a train that is going "thump-thump" as it passes over a gap in the rail ... :)

I make use of the weights that go with a second-hand weight machine that we bought several years ago -- they come in 2.5 lbs, 5 lbs., 10 lbs., and 25 lbs, which gives a lot of flexibility. I designed my press so that these weights can be secured directly on the lever.
