Title: Searching for a spicy cheese
Post by: Goudatwoshoes on May 02, 2015, 06:15:27 AM
i guess this is the right place to come?

About two years ago I had a spicy white cheese with flakes of red pepper in it at a party. Haven't been able t find it since and really want one. It was sort of sweet, not dry or crumbly and spread really well on crackers.

Google just keeps giving me white cheese dips with peppers *sigh*

Anyone who can help identify it?

Well, until you said that it spread really well, I was thinking a pepper jack. For spreadable cheese I'm thinking maybe a camembert or such, but I've never seen a recipe adding peppers to one.

I look forward to those with more experience chiming in to solve the mystery!

By the way, welcome to the forum!

Chances are it is just what Google keeps giving you.  A cheese spread.

You could make a processed cheese and add the spices to it. They are short lived though and need to be consumed within about a month.

Sounds like cream cheese with peppers to me.
