Title: Samples of curd cutters
Post by: IllinoisCheeseHead on May 11, 2015, 09:34:34 PM
Hi

Now that I built a press and it worked like a charm, I would like to build an good curd cutter.  I know a lot of you have built your own.  Do you mind sharing photos?.  Once I am done I will share as well.

Thanks

Do you use a circular or square vat?

Ah, very important question.  Circular for me.  Double boiler :)

The Forum contains a powerful search function.  I just typed in the term "curd cutter" and got a number of hits.  One with lots of photos for round vats.  Awakephd has posted pictures of an ingenious horizontal cutter for round vats, also.  All the information you seek will likely be available.   ???

I just started using a 1/2 inch dowel with some copper wire and markings every 1/4 inch. It works well for horizontal cuts, and then I do the rest with a bread knife.
